Hello everyone!
Since Fandom and Gamepedia joined forces at the beginning of 2019, they have been hard at work on cross-collaboration initiatives between the two (former) companies. Part of the focus is on bringing users from the two platforms together through things like project crossover. In many cases, it makes sense to combine two or more preexisting wiki communities, bringing the fan community together in one place for all the editing work, updates and discussions to happen. Although it isn't mandatory, crossovers of wikis can be a logical first step toward UCP, the "Unified Community Platform" that will be rolled out over the next few months.
You may or may not be aware of a similar wiki to this on Gamepedia (fracturedbutwhole.gamepedia.com). I have been browsing around that wiki lately, and have also been in contact with its Wiki Manager, and it appears there hasn't been an active community over there and no edits made to articles in a long time. It also seems like the articles on this wiki, in general, are more robust/complete/developed than much of what I am seeing on the Gamepedia wiki. For example: a quick browse through many of that wiki's character articles reveals that they are mostly incomplete stubs, which haven't been touched in three years. This Fandom wiki also seems to have the advantage of having two administrators who have been active over the past few months.
I am looking for some feedback from you, the community, to hear whether you've ever visited the Gamepedia wiki, and what you think of the content/community over there. Are you for, or opposed to a crossover? The way it would work is that one of the wikis would still remain visible, but it would be locked to editing, and a banner would appear at the top of every wiki page, directing viewers to the preferred wiki, which would be a consolidation of both wiki communities. Based on this particular situation, it appears the most logical direction would be to have the Gamepedia wiki direct to this one, and if there is any unique content over there, that isn't already detailed here, it could be ported over.
